That is a focusrite scarlett 2i2 first generation from 2011. I have a scarlett 2i2. I just bought a focusrite scarlett 2i2 audio interface and while i'm generally happy with the sound, i noticed there's a very noticeable white noise in the background whenever i try to record guitar.
So On Purchasing My Focusrite Scarlett 2I2, I Was Served With An Ableton Live Lite Licence.
It's not just feedback, it even happens with the guitar volume off. In addition, it also fixed the problems which i had with balancing the high mids and lows for the mic. I have a '15 macbook pro running yosemite and using garageband.

I have been producing music on other daws but saw this as an opportunity to learn ableton as well. If i turn up the gain on the mic through 2i2, i get white noise out. Make sure you have the latest version of mix control.
