Something i'll add is that the joe's garage cover was originally intended for läther and was repurposed i think zappa knew it looked like black face and didn't care, or that was the point. Frank zappa and the mothers I know you could say this about 99% of zappa's records, but nobody could have written this album other than frank zappa himself.

This was one of my earliest zappa albums i bought, and funny enough it was before i found a copy of act i. This was my first frank zappa record and also what a questionable album cover. Joe’s garage is a stupid story about how the government is going to try to do away with music (a prime cause of unwanted mass behavior).
